Elevation Gain: 42 feet

Trail Type: Out-and-back

The Hike: Although short, this little hike is worth the pit sop while traveling through Arches National Park. The trail is perfect for families with kids, or those just wanting a short nature walk, and brings hikers to the base of one of the most unique arches in the park. Skyline Arch was formed right in the middle of a classic red Utah wall, and the sandy trail offers great views of the arch, and the surrounding desert that makes up the park.

The Details: Park at the Skyline Arch Trailhead and start hiking towards the arch. Follow the sandy trail until you reach the base of the arch, stopping for pictures along the way. Once finished, retrace your steps back to your car.

Gear: For this hike, we recommend bringing along either the Winter or Summer Day Hike Essentials, depending on the season.
