Double Arch, Utah

Total Distance: 0.6 miles
Elevation Gain: 95 feet

Trail Type: Out-and-back
Difficulty: Easy

The Hike: This sandy trail may be short, but it takes hikers to one of the coolest arches within Arches National Park. Double Arch is technically two arches that stand side-by-side. Hikers are free to climb up into both arches, which offer views of The Windows from inside.

The trail is short and mostly flat, which makes this great for those with kids or who are in a hurry. Still want more arches after this short hike? The Windows and Turret Arch trails are located just on the other side of the parking lot, and are also family friendly hikes.

The Details: Park in the Double Arch Trailhead to begin your hike – this trailhead fills quickly during peak season. It pays to hike early or late to ensure you get a parking spot.

Follow signs towards the arch for a little over a half mile until you are standing at the base of the formation. After climbing around the arch and taking in the views, retrace your steps back to the car.

Gear: For this hike, we recommend bringing along either the Winter or Summer Day Hike Essentials, depending on the season.
