Jacoby Falls, Pennsylvania

Total Distance: 3.3 miles
Elevation Gain: 341 feet

Trail Type: Out-and-back
Difficulty: Easy

The Hike: This relaxing trail takes hikers through the lush Jacoby Hollow, and ends at a 45 foot waterfall surrounded by towering rocks. The trail begins on a short boardwalk that assists hikers over a wetland, and then weaves its way in and out of hemlock trees. The trail itself follows a very gradual incline up to the falls, and is easy enough to bring children along.

As with most Pennsylvania waterfalls, the best time to see these falls really flowing in in the spring. The falls are often dry in the late summer months, and frozen with icicles in the winter.

The Details: Begin by parking in the gavel lot along Wallis Run Road. Then, follow signs across the boardwalk and towards the falls. Keep following the yellow blazed trail as it criss crosses multiple streams and weaves in and out of trees. After following an old service road for a few minutes, hikers will be brought to the base of the falls. Be careful of slick rocks as the area is extremely wet.

Once finished, retrace your steps back to the parking lot.

Gear: For this hike, we recommend bringing along either the Winter or Summer Day Hike Essentials, depending on the season. Micro-spikes are strongly advised in the winter.
